How to choose a battery cell
Capacity and current serve different purposes
Capacity in Ah describes stored charge; the current rating in A describes the permitted load under specified conditions. A larger capacity does not automatically mean a higher permitted current.
Read temperature conditions with the current rating
EVE 50PL’s 125 A maximum requires temperature monitoring; Samsung 50S’s 45 A rating requires an 80 °C cut-off. These are conditional datasheet limits, not unconditional design currents.
Choose a chemistry and compatible charger
Li-ion and LiFePO₄ have different voltage ranges and charging requirements. Match the cell chemistry, series count, protection circuit and charger to the battery pack’s design.
Compare the exact model and datasheet revision
The supplied EVE 58E datasheet specifies 5700 mAh nominal capacity. Model names and marketplace titles are not a substitute for the specific revision of the manufacturer’s specification.
Check chemistry, voltage, format and the specific model’s datasheet for compatibility.
